purchased this lock as a way to lock my snowboards up while on the mountain.. the lock works great the quality is top notch. I love the little light that comes attached to it, and is also removable! I would highly recommend this lock to anyone looking to do a temp lock situation for their boards, bikes, or other gear. It is slightly larger than most other snowboard locks but if you have large pockets in your pants it stores pretty nicely while not using it.

This is very quick and simple to use. It has a solid, quality feel to it. It's perfect for frequent and quick on and off uses. I work security so I'm on and off the bike a lot. This makes it possible to lock my bike fast and get it going again quickly. Very easy to use and the light that is mounted on the unit is very cool and helpful in seeing the combination. I can't say enough good about this lock. I searched all the bike locks on Amazon and chose this one and I feel I chose the best one for my needs.

First of all, I'm not sure I'd even consider this medium security. I'd consider it light, but that's not a bad thing.
Let's be honest. Locks are not a preventive measure, but are a deterrent. You purchase a lock based on the value of that which you wish to deter other people from taking. I've seen people put thirty dollar locks on chains that I could cut with my multi-tool; A chain is only as strong as it's weakest link.
I would not use this to lock my jacket to my bike overnight, but I most certainly would use it for short periods of time when it would be out of my sight. This is a device that, as someone already stated, will help keep honest people honest because if someone is truly serious about taking your stuff...? There's not a whole lot you can do to stop them, short of hiring a security guard. And then, there's the training... the background checks... the... ok, so just get a bigger lock.
Anyway. This is an amazingly light lock. Unfortunately, I had taken it out of the package and someone threw the instructions away without realizing it. It's really not hard to figure out, though. Cable release lever: check. Lock release button: check. Combination setting button: check.
Setting the combination really isn't tricky at all. Push the recessed button in, set your numbers, release the button and *BAM*! Good to go.
This is really the perfect solution to light security needs where using a standard lock just isn't feasible. Such as locking my jacket to my bike. Try doing that with a padlock...
