I purchased this rack based on a number of reviews including a slightly outdated one I found at [...], where many bicycle rear racks are reviewed. One of the main reasons I ordered this rack is it is very adjustable for height and of length of the mounting arms. I mounted this on a large frame older road bike, so I needed this added flexability to fit the bike.
This rack seems to be very sturdy and of good quality. It has sturdy dog leg bars to keep a pannier from hitting the rear wheels. I have given this rack four stars only because it fails to come with coated clamps which are used on bicycles without braze-ons for the rack and also does not contain scres to mount the rack to the bicycle. For a rack which the big selling feature is adjustability, this is a disapointment. Many other brands of racks include these. I could not find these available separately on Amazon.com, but did find a inexpensive set Jandd makes at [...]. I am sure others can be found also. If not for this oversignt, this would be a five star rating.
Another nice feature is the built in reflector bracket (many racks fail to provide a bracket, separate or intergal). It is a large bracket that attempts to fit many variations of reflectors and lights, but in its attempt to do so, some lights won't fit or will be a tight fit. The bracket is very sturdy as well. This rack should hold the load specified and still remain stable and strong.
Amazon is very good at suggesting additional items and it would be nice if brackets and screws would come up as suggestions.
This rack is a mid price point rack and is a good value, especially with the super saver shipping.
