Happy daughter, 4 by .. Daniel P. Mahalic Jr. (Palm Beach, FL)
The Freestyle Mongoose Slyde Girl's bike showed up unscathed, all parts included and assembled in 22 minutes. I read some negative comments from Amazon buyers unhappy with their purchases, bike related. I can assure you, I purchased 3 bikes, 2 kids, and 1 adult bike and we three are VERY happy this 2010 Spring! Kudos, Amazon...

Missing pedals 3 by .. E. Vasquez (Fort Irwin, CA)
The bicycle is great, the only issue that I have is that I had two crucial pieces missing. The bicycle was missing both pedals and had to purchase them from a not so local store. I live 35 miles away from Barstow, CA on a Army base. It is a deliberate operation to leave post. When my family and I shop off the installation we must have a list of things to do, because of gas prices and distance. Thanks Amazon, you cost me an extra 30 dollars of gas after Christmas.

Nice Bike - Bad Factory Packaging - Arrives Damaged 1 by .. K. Good (Monroeville, PA USA)
I would not recommend buying any Mongoose product, sight unseen, period. This bike, which was purchased as a Christmas gift, arrived in the factory box, as Amazon indicates. Apparently, Mongoose has a rather amateurish concept of how to box anything so the contents don't shift around in transit, in this case, resulting in several scratches and paint chips in the brand new bike. Nice Christmas gift for a grandchild, right? I contacted Mongoose "customer service" via their website e-mail link and fully explained the situation, requesting touch-up paint to just take care of the damage myself and avoid gift hassles. Their response? "Contact Amazon if there is shipping damage." I responded back that there was no "shipping damage" but internal damage due to their poor packaging of the bike components. Their response? Silence.

Stay away from Mongoose products unless you want to receive damaged merchandise, fresh out of undamaged factory packaging, due to their brain dead manner of internally "securing" the merchandise for shipping. Of course, it's always wonderful to get customer service from people who have no clue what that means.

BTW, I noted on their website an FAQ which included a Q/A addressing a question about obtaining touch-up paint for their bikes. The answer was "no, we don't supply touch up paint." They further advised going to a hobby store and trying to match the bike paint to plastic model paint. Nice response and product support.
