Ideal for safe commuting and for low-light riding, Planet Bike's Blaze LED headlight and Superflash taillight combo will keep your path well lit. The Blaze offers a high and low power beam along with flashing mode, which is highly visible in daylight as well as darker conditions. In addition, the light attaches securely to your bike thanks to the Quick Cam bracket mounts, which adjust or remove in seconds without tools. The taillight is equipped with a 1/2-watt Blaze red LED and two eXtreme LEDs, which combine to produce a unique, eye-catching red flash pattern that's visible for up to 1 mile. The light is also built for long-term use, with an ultra-compact vertical design that's weatherproof, lightweight, and durable. About Planet Bike
In November of 1996, Planet Bike was founded in Madison, Wisconsin. In many ways, Planet Bike began as a social experiment that dedicated itself to doing business in a different way. Instead of being just another company that develops and sells products with profit as its end goal, Planet Bike wanted to help bring about positive change for people, their communities, and the environment.
Despite being a simple machine, the people at Planet Bike have always believed that the bicycle has great potential to help improve the world and the lives of the people in it. From the start, they have embraced an alternative corporate purpose which seeks to help get more people on bicycles by making communities friendlier places for the self-propelled. By donating 25% of company profits to causes that promote and facilitate bicycle usage, Planet Bike hopes to make an impact.
Social experiments aside, Planet Bike was born from the heart of a cyclist with a goal of making innovative, high quality, and practical bicycle accessories. Simply put, they strive to design and develop the best bicycle products in the world. In the company's short ten year history, they have made important product innovations within the bicycle industry. Advancements include the 4-line computer which is now a standard in the industry and the world's first self-contained HID light. Not bad for a company that ten years ago started as a one man operation. Today, while still a small company, Planet Bike continues to evolve and improve their product line with the goal of always striving to build accessories that make it easier for people to ride their bikes. Since 1996, Planet Bike's financial support of the grassroots bicycle movement has totaled $500,000. By 2010, they have made a goal to donate $1 million to organizations that are dedicated to making America a friendlier place for cyclists.

Customer reviews
The best and brightest AA headlight available.
by .. Lisa from Portland ()
I compared this to last year's brightest Planet Bike LED light, and to my old NiteRider 12w halogen. It was much, much brighter than the other LED and comparable to the halogen, but with a whiter (less yellow) hue. It is so bright I plan to use it for mellow trail night-riding (uphill and flats) and combine it with the halogen for downhill stretches. I also will use it for daily commuting.
The battery life is excellent considering the brightness. A couple sets of rechargeable AA's should be all you need for daily use, even in steady (not blinky) mode. It is light weight and mounts nicely to handlebars w/o cords or battery packs. Regarding the previous comment on the handlebar clamp, I experienced the same thing but figured out I didn't have it adjusted properly. Actually the clamp is excellent, widely adjustable, and requires no rubber shims to fit any bar. The cam problem came about because it was screwed too far into the pivot. For a proper fit, back the screw out and click the strap in another notch or two, then re-adjust the cam screw. Works like a charm. The clamp fits most models of Planet Bike headlights which is nice because with a couple extra clamps (you may purchase them separately) you can instantly swap lights onto different bikes. By the way, the tail light is also the best I have found. I'm impressed with Planet Bike's products and their commitment to bike safety and advocacy. Their fenders, too, are excellent.
Bike Lights - just what I wanted
by .. Brian F. Class (Ashburn, VA USA)
The headlamp has a nice easy to use clasp so you can also use it as a very bright flashlight. The light has medium, high and flashing settings, so it is also useful during the day to make sure everyone notices yout on the road. The tail light is also very bright.
Love em.
Probably the brightest in it's price range.

The clips didn't seem as flimsy as other reviews indicated, but I ride on mostly smooth terrain commuting to work. Very bright for it's price. I work evenings and bike home at 1am on an unlit bike trail, this light allows me to see well enough to go at normal speeds without worry.
Blinding Head and Tail Light
by .. J. E. Gomez (La, CA USA)
I just got this bike light combo after searching around for something moderately priced but worth it and i have to say that it is bright. For the money your spending on this it is definitely worth it for commuter/casual riding. (night mountain trails i would go with something stronger just because you need to know whats all around as opposed to tunnel vision) I exercise every day at least 10 miles on my bike and let me tell you that this light is strong. The rear light alone if looked directly into is blinding, so is the head light. Perfect for getting someones attention when riding at night. I think this definitely worth the money invested. Installation is quick once you get the hang of it for both front and back light. I would recommend removing the lights before stowing after daily use though as they are kinda affixed to moderately weak hard plastic. (I hang my bicycle upside down after use daily so i take them off) Other than that, i love this lighting system.
They work great!
by .. Frank Tidroski (Cape Coral, FL)
Here again you get what you pay for! They are a little pricey but worth it. They attach to the bike well. The headlight really shines far ahead even on low beam and in traffic the strobe really gets the motor vehicle drivers attention. The taillight works great too.
