I bought this lock after having a longer and heavier Kryptonite U-Lock in order to lessen the weight I needed to carry. So far this smaller one has been able to fit on the bike racks/poles I've used; and not having to carry something heavier feels great. It's kept my bike secure as well. My boyfriend has had his for years and recommended this for me; I would definitely do the same for anyone looking to buy a lock.

I almost didn't purchase this lock after reading the reviews since I had planned on mounting it on my bike like the other reviewer. However I've never had a problem with the mounting bracket. The bike works great, fits well inside the frame, and is very compact. The small size can be a problem if you don't have street posts to lock up with- there isn't extra space in the loop. The smaller size makes it more difficult to steal the bike since there is less room to work without damaging the bike and less room to try and pry it open with a prybar. The weight is a bit cumbersome if you have a lighter bike but that is to be expected when dealing with a heavy duty lock.

I purchased this lock for everyday use at school for my 20" bike. After my previous bike had gotten stolen with a cable lock I figured it would be time to upgrade.
The lock is defiantly heavy and weighs down my backpack quite a bit, but on the contrary it is a well built lock that has been holding up great! It fits well in my medium size pack with books and my laptop. The keys are thick and I would never expect them to break off inside the lock as others have claimed to happen with similar locks from everyday use. If the key is not pushed completely into the chamber, it will not turn! When it is though the lock turns smooth and effortlessly which I love. As for every lock, if it does not turn, do not force it, more than likely it is operator error. Still do not see the keys breaking unless you are the Hulk or have pliers handy. Now as for the attachment, I have never used it, I did notice out of the box it is weak and fitment between the lock itself and the attachment is extremely tight making it difficult to slide on and off. My bike is also so small there is no where to mount it anyways. The 3.25" is plenty big for any any bike to lock the frame, but if you want to lock the frame and wheel with a single lock a larger size is needed. Overall, great lock, small, and would defiantly buy again.

this lock is the perfect size. i can get it around the rim of my back tire, through the rear triangle, and around most bike stand posts. some of the fatter posts are too big, but it's easy to find one that will work. it fits really snuggly with no room for a jack to squeeze in. i really didn't like the mounting bracket it came with - i had trouble releasing the lock when the bracket was in my hand and can't imagine struggling with it attached to my bike - so i just lock it to my rear basket when not using it. i live in a pretty safe area of atlanta and don't park my bike in crimey areas at night, so this lock is enough for me. if i were to park my beauty somewhere with a bad bike reputation, i might supplement her security. for me, this is the perfect lock.

I can't seem to find anything bad to say about this lock - about any lock for that matter - because it does its job perfectly fine. I never used the bike attachment and instead hang it from my bike seat so I don't have to actually carry it in my backpack.
I mainly bought the lock because it's about half the price of the Evolution series and is only one level lower in the Kryptonite security levels. I park my bike mostly in good areas so I don't worry much about how much it can take before someone brakes open the lock.
This lock does it's job perfectly well.
