hi,
i live in ny. had 2 bikes stolen in the city. i finally got an Onguard chain and lock. the ny bike thieves tried and tried to pick that lock and finally after 3 or 4 years they actually did something to keep it from opening again (i'm guessing they broke a tumbler). BUT THEY DIDN'T GET THE LOCK OPEN!!! AND DIDN'T GET THE BIKE. AND.....UNBELIEVABLY, ONGUARD REPLACED THE LOCK ... AND THE CHAIN ...AND...PAID FOR A LOCKSMITH!!!! now i'm happy again. i like my bike and i need it in the city. new york is tough, and this company gets my vote 5 stars!!!! and more!!

If you're looking for a chain that's been forged by the hand of God himself, then this is the one. It's one tough SOB. The only downside is that it might be too heavy for casual use.

This chain is a monster. Good luck to any thieves trying to get through it. The included nylon cover is a definite necessity, without it, you'd drag the heavy chain across your bike's frame and probably scratch it up. This chain is the longest one OnGuard makes. I wouldn't get the larger (largest) size at 14mm, this 12mm chain is more than enough.
For shorter rides of < 2 miles or so, it's tolerable, but anything over that would do me in. I put in in a backpack and I definitely know it's on my back. I can't really knock it for that though, I knew how much it weighed when I ordered.

This chain weighs more than the bikes I use it to secure to my hitch rack. Check youtube to see a demo of how difficult this Beast is to bust. Money well spent.

We had two high end bikes stolen in our garage. We now feel much more protected with two on-guard chains, one 3' and one 7' securing them inside a closet in the garage.
