At the same time, the bike's dual suspension and riser handlebars deliver a smooth and comfortable ride regardless of the terrain, so your teen's fun isn't restricted to flat pavement. As a final bonus, the Dirt Rocket's variable-speed, chain-driven motor is extremely quiet, a marked contrast to traditional gas-powered motocross bikes.Other details include large pneumatic knobby tires for a maximum power transfer, authentic dirt bike frame geometry, a retractable kickstand, and a double-crown fork. The MX500, which requires roughly eight hours to fully charge, is recommended for ages 14 and over and offers a maximum weight limit of 175 pounds. It's also backed by a 90-day warranty.

My Son LOVES his MX500
by .. Joyce Bloomer (McDonough GA)
This is by far the best product that I have purchased in years. It is made very well and my son enjoys it every day.
Awesome
by .. L. Campbell (Fairfax, va)
Great bike. Well put together. Battery seems strong. Definitely fast. However, I bought it for my 6yo. It's a little too big for him. He can ride it real slow now, but I should have bought the next size down. My 11yo loves it. It will just be a year or two before the 6yo can get full enjoyment from the bike.
Great bike!
by .. lahriegirl (FLORIDA, US)
We purchased two of these for our boys ages 9 1/2 and 8. Assembly was not difficult - my husband left them in the internal packing to install the front wheel and handle bar so that the bike was stable and in an upright position. They are very well made and have some weight to them - definitely NOT cheap construction! The boys LOVE their bikes - they ride them every day. I would highly recommend this as a transition between bicycles/electric scooters and gas powered bikes/4-wheelers.
Just a quick thought for any parent concerned about the inevitable crashes: Both of our boys crashed within the first week; one was a moving collision with the Razor go-cart, and the injuries were no worse than with bicycles - road rash on knees and elbows (and NO injuries to our child on the go-cart). Minor scratches and a bent foot peg were the only damages on the bike. They ALWAYS wear helmets while riding - no exceptions.
Awesome Christmas Gift!
by .. Central Coast, RC (California)
We purchased the MX500 last Christmas for our 7 year old son and it was a hit! 1 year later, still runs like new with the exception of the rear wheel which we recently replaced due to a cracked axle. Not an unreasonable repair considering how hard my son is on the bike, the rear wheel assembly is inexpensive and easy to swap out! If your considering the MX 500 for your son or daughter this Christmas do it, the bike will not dissapoint! Caution, all the neighbor kids will want to ride it too....
Good Bike. Should have bought the mx650 for 50 more
by .. A. Langsam (USA)
Delivered in two days for the best price on the internet. Cant beat Amazon. Took about 30 minutes to finish assembly. Its mostly put together - just handlebars front wheel and a number plate. Goes for a long time on a charge. My 10 year old is having a blast on it in our very large backyard. So far its been durable after a few weeks of beatings...
The one thing i would say is that it could use a little more oomph off the line. I didnt realize the mx650 is the exact same size but with 30 percent more power for 50 bucks extra. they market it to 16 year olds. A 10 year old is just fine IMO. I think a 16 year old would want a bigger gas powered bike IMO.
